TRASFERIMENTO TECNOLOGICO

E VALORIZZAZIONE DELLA RICERCA

Il trasferimento tecnologico rappresenta oggi il core business di

AREA Science Park, che si pone quale snodo di collegamento tra

il sistema della ricerca e il tessuto imprenditoriale.

L’esperienza maturata in 10 anni di attività sul territorio ha pro-

dotto risultati di grande interesse e ha consentito di sperimentare

e affinare un nuovo modello di interazione ricerca-impresa consi-

derato oggi una best practice.

Grazie alla collaborazione delle istituzioni di ricerca regionali e al

finanziamento della Regione Friuli Venezia Giulia, dal 2001 AREA

Science Park ha avviato la creazione di un sistema permanen-

te in grado di trasferire con efficacia alle imprese conoscenze,

competenze e innovazioni presenti all’interno del sistema-ricerca

regionale.

GESTIONE DEL DISTRETTO DI BIOMEDICINA MOLECOLARE

Il Distretto Tecnologico per la Biomedicina Molecolare, che ope-

ra in tutto il Friuli Venezia Giulia congiuntamente alle altre realtà

consolidate sul territorio nel settore della biomedicina molecolare,

è gestito dal Consorzio per la Biomedicina Molecolare (CBM), ini-

ziativa promossa e controllata da AREA Science Park e fortemen-

te sostenuta dalla Regione Friuli Venezia Giulia.

COORDINAMENTO DEGLI ENTI DI RICERCA

Dal 2004 AREA, su impulso della Regione Friuli Venezia Giulia,

del MIUR (Ministero Istruzione, Università e Ricerca) e del MAE

(Ministero degli Affari Esteri), è l’ente coordinatore dei 43 centri di

ricerca dell’intero Friuli Venezia Giulia.

L’alta concentrazione di enti di ricerca in Friuli Venezia Giulia ha

infatti indotto alla creazione di un “sistema-ricerca” regionale per

porre in sinergia le competenze e le attività delle singole realtà,

con la nascita di un vero e proprio network degli Enti di ricerca

nazionali ed internazionali, aventi sedi o strutture operative nella

regione.

AND ENHANCEMENT OF RESEARCH

Technology transfer today constitutes the core business of AREA

Science Park, which sets out to be the bridge between research

and the world of enterprise.

The experience built up in 10 years of activity in the territory have

led to highly interesting results making it possible to try out and

improve a new model of interaction between research and enter-

prises which today is considered a best practice.

Thanks to the cooperation of institutes of regional research and

to funding from the Region of Friuli Venezia Giulia, in 2001 AREA

Science Park launched the creation of a permanent system ca-

pable of effectively transferring technology, knowledge, compe-

tences and innovations which are within the regional system of

research to enterprises.

MANAGEMENT OF THE DISTRICT OF MOLECULAR BIOMEDICINE

The Technology District for Molecular Biomedicine, which opera-

tes throughout Friuli Venezia Giulia together with the other struc-

tures established in the territory in the sector of molecular biome-

dicine, is managed by the Consortium for Molecular Biomedicine

(CBM), an initiative promoted and controlled by AREA Science

Park and strongly supported by the Region Friuli Venezia Giulia.

COORDINATION OF RESEARCH INSTITUTES

Since 2004 AREA, at the request of the Region of Friuli Venezia

Giulia, of MIUR (Ministry of Education, Universities and Resear-

ch) and of MAE (Ministry of Foreign Affairs) has been the coor-

dinating body for the 43 research centres in the whole of Friuli

Venezia Giulia.

The high density of research institutes in Friuli Venezia Giulia has

indeed led to the creation of a regional “research system” to en-

sure there is synergy between the competences and the activities

of each individual reality, with the formation of a network of na-

tional and international research institutes, with sites or facilities

working in the region.

INFORMAZIONE BREVETTUALE E BUSINESS INTELLIGENCE

La conoscenza ricavabile dai brevetti è enorme e versatile e può

rispondere alle esigenze più diverse: dalla verifica delle antece-

denze di un’idea all’individuazione di tecnologie innovative, dalla

ricerca di opportunità di partnership al monitoraggio della con-

correnza, dalla previsione delle tendenze di sviluppo di singoli

settori alla verifica dell’utilizzabilità di soluzioni tecniche protette

da brevetti ormai scaduti.

ATTRAZIONE D’INVESTIMENTI

AREA opera con l’intento di creare valore sul territorio: scopo

finale è la localizzazione di attività ad alta intensità tecnologica e

ad elevato livello di innovazione, attraverso l’attivazione di siner-

gie con i principali attori locali attivi nello sviluppo delle piccole e

medie imprese (PMI) innovative e di cluster industriali.

PARTENARIATI E RETI INTERNAZIONALI

La promozione delle relazioni internazionali nei settori della ri-

cerca, della valorizzazione e del trasferimento delle tecnologie,

dello sviluppo economico e industriale, specialmente con le re-

gioni europee limitrofe e con i Paesi in transizione economica

dell’Europa Centro-Orientale, rappresenta una opportunità per la

crescita economica della regione Friuli Venezia Giulia, e AREA è

particolarmente sensibile a tutte le opportunità di valorizzazione

del territorio.

FORMAZIONE

AREA opera sul fronte della qualificazione delle risorse umane

quale strumento base per la crescita del territorio.

Nel quadro delle esigenze dell’attuale mondo lavorativo, la forma-

zione va letta in chiave europea e internazionale, sia essa rivolta

all’inserimento nel mondo del lavoro o alla qualificazione superio-

re e specialistica di competenze già attive.

MOBILITA’

La mobilità è il mezzo per rendere più dinamica e completa la

propria formazione e per cogliere ogni opportunità di crescita nel

settore della ricerca e della qualificazione professionale e rap-

presenta inoltre un elemento centrale per lo sviluppo dell’inno-

Per questo, AREA sostiene annualmente, con diversi strumenti,

numerose iniziative di mobilità.

PATENT INFORMATION AND INTELLIGENCE BUSINESS

The knowledge which can be drawn from patents is both enor-

mous and versatile and may be required for a variety of reasons:

from the verification of antecedents of an idea to the identifica-

tion of innovation technologies, from seeking out opportunities

of partnership to monitoring the competition, from forecasting

the trends of development of single sectors to verification as to

whether it is possible to use technical solutions protected by pa-

tents which have expired.

ATTRACTION OF INVESTMENTS

AREA works to create value in the territory: the objective is the

localisation of activities with a high level of technology and inno-

vation by setting up synergies with the main players locally active

in developing innovative small and medium enterprises (SMEs)

and industrial clusters.

PARTNERSHIPS AND INTERNATIONAL NETWORKS

The promotion of international relations in the sectors of research,

of enhancement and transfer of technologies, of economic and

industrial development, particularly with the neighbouring Euro-

pean regions and with the nations in economic transition from

central-east Europe, constitutes an opportunity for the growth of

the economy of Friuli Venezia Giulia, and AREA is particularly

sensitive to all the opportunities of improvement of the territory.

TRAINING

AREA operates with regard to the professional development hu-

man resources as key to advance the territory.

Within the context of the requirements of the world of work nowa-

days, training should be seen in a European and international

light, whether it is directed towards a person entering the world

of work or further qualification and specialisation.

MOBILITY

Mobility is the means to make training more dynamic and com-

plete and to seize new opportunities for growth within the field of

research and professional qualification; it is a key element for the

development of innovation.

For this reason AREA annually supports, in different ways, nume-

rous initiatives of mobility.

DIVULGAZIONE SCIENTIFICA

AREA organizza una serie di iniziative aperte al grande pubblico

con l’intento di contribuire a fare del sapere tecnico scientifico un

patrimonio di conoscenza condiviso e alla portata di tutti.

Le iniziative proposte sono quindi rivolte ad un pubblico non spe-

cialistico, che vuole soddisfare la propria curiosità in tema di sa-

pere scientifico e tecnologico e scoprire le innovazioni e i benefici

che ne derivano.

STUDI DI SETTORE

AREA pubblica periodicamente studi di settore di matrice socio-

economica, dedicati allo sviluppo del mondo produttivo basato

sulla conoscenza e sull’innovazione. Si tratta di approfondite ana-

lisi multisettoriali, che forniscono quadri particolareggiati su sta-

to dell’arte e tendenze delle tecnologie e offrono informazioni su

mercati, concorrenza, normative internazionali.

SCIENTIFIC DIFFUSION

AREA organises a series of initiatives open to the wider public

with the aim of contributing to make technical and scientific

knowledge a patrimony of knowledge shared and available to

everyone. The initiatives proposed are therefore directed towar-

ds a non-specialist audience, who want to satisfy their curiosity

about scientific and technological knowledge and discover the

innovations and benefits which can be drawn from it.

SECTOR STUDIES

AREA periodically publishes sector studies of a social-economic

nature, devoted to the development of the world of production

based on knowledge and on innovation. These are deep, multi-

sectoral analyses that provide a detailed picture of the state-of-

the-art and the trends of technologies as well as providing infor-

mation on markets, competition, international regulations.
