Inoltre, con i suoi soli 11 kg al mq è ideale per gli ambienti dove è necessaria una riduzione dei carichi. Nel caso invece di posa a pavimento, direttamente su massetto, Keope sconsiglia l’utilizzo di Kover in quanto tale applicazione è fortemente condizionata dall’esecuzione ottimale del massetto stesso, dalla sua completa stagionatura, dal rispetto degli opportuni giunti di dilatazione nonchè dalla posa effettuata a regola d’arte. Pertanto, in caso di posa diretta su massetto, Keope suggerisce l’utilizzo di gres porcellanato a spessore tradizionale.

Kover is recommended for new walls, for refurbishing walls and floors in residential and light commercial environments. It is ideal for both indoor and outdoor use. Furthermore, with its mere 11 kg per square metre, it is highly recommended for environments that cannot be overloaded. Keope does not recommend the installation of Kover on a slab since the results of installation strictly relate to the condition - excellent - of the slab, to its seasoning, to the provision of expansion joints, as well as to perfect installation in accordance to “the rules of the trade”.If you are tiling a new slab, Keope recommends the use of porcelain stoneware with a standard thickness.

Qualora si impiegassero dischi diamantati, è importante, nonché necessario, servirsi di dischi “a fascia continua” da utilizzarsi a mano, come nel caso di smerigiliatrici, o su appositi banchi da taglio. Per il successo delle operazioni di taglio e sagomatura delle superfici con dischi da taglio è fondamentale controllare la velocità di rotazione e procedere con bassa velocità di avanzamento (< 1mt/min circa) e elevata velocità di rotazione (> 2500 giri/min circa).

cutting and worKing on slabs: handy hintsSince it is only 4.8 mm thick, Kover can be cut and shaped using standard machine tools used for porcelain stoneware. You can use diamond discs, horizontal cutters and glass cutters. If you are using the latter tool, work on a perfectly flat and clean surface. If you are using diamond discs, make sure that these are “smooth crown” and hand-operated discs or angle grinders. As an alternative, you may work on special cutting benches. To obtain clear cuts and perfect shapes when using cutting discs, check speed of rotation. Disc rotation speed must be high (>2500 RPM) and speed at which tool is pushed low (lower than 1 m/min. approx.).

Pour obtenir les meilleurs résultats avec les disques diamantés, il est important de contrôler la vitesse de rotation et de procéder à une petite vitesse d’avancement (< 1m/min environ) et à une grande vitesse de rotation (> 2500 tr/mn environ).

In der Tat können Diamantscheiben, horizontale Fliesenschneider und Glasschneider verwendet werden, wobei vor allem im letztgenannten Fall unbedingt auf einer perfekt ebenen und sauberen Fläche gearbeitet werden muss. Bei der Verwendung von Diamantscheiben ist es wichtig und notwendig, Scheiben mit „ununterbrochener Kante“ manuell zu

verwenden, wie z.B. im Falle von Schleifmaschinen, oder auf entsprechenden Schneidbänken. Beim Schneiden und Formen der Oberflächen mit Schneid-scheiben ist es wichtig, die Drehgeschwindigkeit zu kontrollieren und mit geringer Vorschubgeschwindigkeit (ca. < 1 m/min) und hoher Drehgeschwin-digkeit (> 2500 U/min) zu arbeiten.

Per una corretta foratura del prodotto si suggerisce di effettuare un regolare raffreddamento con acqua sul punto di attacco, di iniziare le operazioni avendo cura di mantenere una bassa velocità di rotazione e di non esercitare una pressione eccessiva. Nel caso di una foratura avente diametro superiore agli 8 mm è importante utilizzare smerigliatrici o frese a tazza montate su trapano. Qualora si desiderasse effettuare tagli sagomati di precisione si consiglia l’utilizzo di macchine a idrogetto. In fase di foratura è inoltre assolutamente vietato utilizzare il percussore.

drilling Kover slabsHoles can be drilled in Kover slabs; if you are performing manual drilling, use bits for glass or tungsten bits for holes with a maximum diameter of 8 mm. To ensure correct drilling of the product, provide sufficient cooling of the point drilled with water. When beginning your work, maintain a low rotation speed and never exert excessive pressure. If you are drilling holes larger than 8 mm, use angle grinders or cutting discs fitted to your drill. To make precision cuts, we recommend the use of hydrojet cutting machines. Never use hammering tools for drilling.

Pour percer des trous de plus de 8 mm, il est important d’utiliser des scies à eau ou de monter une fraise trépan sur la perceuse. Pour des coupes de précision, il est conseillé d’utiliser des découpeuses à eau. En phase de perçage, il est absolument interdit d’utiliser le percusseur.

Falls geformte Präzisionsschnitte gefertigt werden müssen, wird zur Verwendung von Wasserstrahlmaschinen empfohlen. Es ist absolut verboten, beim Bohren einen Schlagbohrer zu verwenden.

4poSa dI KovER a RIvEStIMEnto.Kover può facilmente essere posato a parete in spazi interni ed esterni, tramite incollaggio e in tutte quelle situazioni che necessitano di un minor aggravio di peso sulle superfici da rivestire. È possibile posare Kover su calcestruzzo, ceramica preesistente, materiale lapideo, murature in blocchi di cemento espanso, intonaci a base cementizia.

5KovER E la poSa Su pavIMEntI E RIvEStIMEntI pREESIStEntI.Kover può essere utilizzato nella ristrutturazione di edifici su pavimenti e rivestimenti preesistenti: particolarmente consigliato per la posa su marmo, pietra naturale e ceramica, evitando pertanto demolizioni e riducendo costi e inconvenienti legati alla ristrutturazione tradizionale.

Kover and installation on existing floor and wall coverings.Kover can be used for refurbishing and can therefore be installed on existing floor and wall coverings: it is highly recommended for installation on marble, natural stone and ceramics, which means that demolishing is no longer necessary. All costs and inconveniences relating to conventional refurbishing are therefore eliminated.

Kover et la pose au sol ou sur des revêtements préexistantsDans le cadre d’une rénovation de bâtiments, Kover peut être posée sur un revêtement mural ou de sol préexistant. Elle est particulièrement indiquée sur le marbre, la pierre naturelle ou le carrelage. Cette solution évite tous les travaux de démolition en réduisant les dépenses et les inconvénients liés à la rénovation traditionnelle.

Kover und die verlegung auf vorhandenen böden und verKleidungen.Kover kann bei der Umstrukturierung von Gebäuden auf schon vorhandenen Böden und Verkleidungen eingesetzt werden und wird ganz besonders für die Verlegung auf Marmor, Naturstein und Keramik empfohlen, wodurch Demolierungen vermieden und die mit den traditionellen Umstrukturierungsarbeiten verbundenen Kosten und Unannehmlichkeiten reduziert werden.

6KovER Su RIvEStIMEnto pREESIStEntEPrima di iniziare le operazioni di posa si consiglia di verificare che il rivestimento esistente sia ancora ben posato e sia completamente asciutto. Eventuali parti o piastrelle distaccate o fessurate anche parzialmente dovranno essere rimosse prima di dare inizio alla posa del nuovo rivestimento. Si consiglia, inoltre, di colmare i vuoti creati dalla rimozione delle piastrelle preesistenti con prodotti cementizi idonei. Nel caso si posasse Kover ex novo, per una possa corretta, si consiglia di verificare che il fondo non presenti crepe, che sia asciutto e che il ritiro igrometrico di maturazione sia terminato. È fondamentale inoltre accertarsi che non vi siano infiltrazioni di umidità o acqua tali da rigonfiare il supporto e si suggerisce di pulire con cura la superficie preesistente in modo da eliminare residui di polvere, olii, grassi o sporco. La superficie sulla quale effettuare la posa dovrà essere perfettamente planare e pertanto si consiglia colmare eventuali dislivelli con idonei prodotti destinati alla rasatura. Per la posa delle lastre Kover tramite incollaggio, è opportuno stendere l’adesivo a letto pieno, avendo cura di utilizzare una spatola a dentatura da 3-4 mm o a denti inclinati, in modo da distribuire uniformemente la colla sull’intera area da rivestire. installing Kover on existing wall coveringsBefore beginning your installation work, check if the existing covering is sound and perfectly dry. Any loose materials and cracked tiles - even partially cracked - must be removed before beginning installation. Fill any gaps due to the removal of existing tiles using suitable cement-based products. If you are installing Kover on a new floor, make sure this is stable and without cracks; hygrometric shrinkage and seasoning must have ended. Make sure that there is no damp or water seepage that could cause the tiles to dislodge. Clean the surface to eliminate any dust, oil, grease or dirt. The supporting surface must be perfectly flat. Therefore, level off any differences in level beforehand using suitable levelling products. If you are using an adhesive to install Kover slabs, spread it full-bed using a 3-4 mm notched trowel with tilted teeth. Spread the adhesive evenly over the entire surface to tile. To facilitate adhesion of Kover to its support surface and prevent air bubbles forming, exert a little pressure on the slabs with a rubber-coated trowel and tap all over.Use special spacer crosses to maintain a gap of 2 – 3 mm between the slabs. This precaution will give your tiled surface a better appearance and make it easier to maintain. For correct wall installation, provide the joints needed, as requested by the characteristics of the building site.Kover wall coverings can be matched with floors of the Life collection with a standard thickness since it has the same size grade, modularity and technical characteristics.

7la poSa Su pavIMEnto pREESIStEntE, ConSIGlI pRatICIKover è consigliato per la posa in spazi residenziali e commerciali a traffico leggero: il prodotto infatti non è indicato per ambienti ove un frequente passaggio di carichi puntuali pesanti o di carrelli a ruote dure gravi sulle superfici di calpestio.Per la posa su pavimento preesistente è necessario verificare che il vecchio pavimento in ceramica, pietra o marmo, sia solido e ben ancorato al fondo. È inoltre opportuno che il supporto sul quale posare le lastre Kover sia asciutto, planare, stabile e privo di elementi e residui di materiali che potrebbero compromettere il risultato delle operazioni di posa. È necessario rimuovere parti di piastrelle distaccate e/o parzialmente fessurate ed è importante colmare i vuoti creati con adeguati prodotti cementizi. Si suggerisce di controllare la planarità della superficie di posa, utilizzando una staggia della lunghezza di almeno due metri e di riempire gli eventuali dislivelli con prodotti utilizzati per la rasatura. È opportuno controllare che le caratteristiche meccaniche (resistenza alla compressione e alla flessione) del sottofondo siano adatte a resistere alle sollecitazioni per la destinazione d’uso prevista. Keope consiglia inoltre di non posare la lastra con il lato lungo parallelo alla direzione di flessione massima del pavimento. Per una posa corretta di Kover su pavimento preesistente il numero e la tipologia dei giunti di dilatazione dovranno essere calcolati in base alle caratteristiche del cantiere dal direttore dei lavori. Qualora si posassero le lastre su pavimenti in ceramica smaltata è importante pulire la superficie con un lavaggio di acqua e soda caustica in soluzione, avendo cura di risciacquare il tutto con abbondante acqua, o di procedere con un’abrasione meccanica per eliminare dalle superfici tracce e residui di sporco che potrebbero compromettere l’adesione del prodotto al supporto.

Per una perfetta distribuzione del collante su tutta la superficie e per garantire la presa delle lastre sul supporto, è importante che l’adesivo sia applicato a doppia spalmatura, facendo attenzione a non formare vuoti che potrebbero causare la rottura della lastra. Si consiglia di stendere il collante a letto pieno mediante una spatola con denti distanziali di 6 mm inclinati e di applicare l’adesivo anche sul retro di Kover con una spatola con denti di 3 mm. Una volta posata la lastra sul pavimento si suggerisce di premere sulla superficie con una spatola gommata e di batterla con una battitura omogenea per evitare la formazione di bolle d’aria e facilitarne l’adesione al supporto. Per una migliore resa estetica e funzionale della posa è importante utilizzare crocette distanziatici che mantengano una fuga di 2-3 mm. È opportuno inoltre che la granulometria del materiale fugante sia adeguata alla fuga consigliata e che le fughe siano riempite fino al piano, creando così una superficie pari. I giunti di dilatazione dovranno essere posizionati in modo regolare ed è importante che fra muri perimetrali e pavimento ci sia una fuga di almeno 5 mm che sarà opportunamente coperta dal battiscopa. Giunti di dilatazione e disposizione dei giunti dovranno essere opportunamente calcolate dal direttore dei lavori in base al cantiere.

The support on which you will install Kover slabs must be dry, flat, stable and there must be no brittle or loose materials that could compromise the results of installation. Remove any dislodged and/or cracked tiles and fill in gaps with special cement-based products. Check flatness of the supporting floor using a screed with a length of at least two metres. If necessary, compensate for any differences in level using levelling products. Ensure that the mechanical properties (resistance to compression and bending) of the supporting surface are suitable for withstanding the stress relating to its intended use. Abgelöste und/oder teilweise gespaltete Fliesenteile sind zu entfernen und es ist wichtig, die entstandenen Leerstellen mit geeigneten Betonprodukten zu füllen. Es wird empfohlen, die Ebenheit der Verlegungsfläche mit einer mindestens zwei Meter langen Abziehlatte zu kontrollieren und eventuelle Höhenunterschiede mit Spachtelprodukten zu füllen. Es sollte kontrolliert werden, dass die mechanischen Eigenschaften (Druck- und Biegefestigkeit) des Untergrunds für die Beanspruchungen des vorgesehenen Bestimmungszwecks geeignet sind. Koepe empfiehlt außerdem, die Platten nicht mit der langen Seite parallel zur maximalen Biegerichtung des Bodens zu verlegen. Für eine korrekte Verlegung von Kover auf vorhandenen Böden muss die Zahl und Art der Dehnungsfugen in Funktion der Baustelleneigenschaften von der Bauleitung berechnet werden. Falls die Platten auf glasierten Keramikböden verlegt werden, ist die Oberfläche unbedingt mit einer Wasser- und Ätznatronlösung zu waschen und danach reichlich mit Wasser abzuspülen oder sie ist mechanisch abzuschleifen, um Spuren von Schmutzrückständen, die das Anhaften der Platten am Untergrund beeinträchtigen könnten, von den Oberflächen zu entfernen.

Um den Kleber perfekt auf der gesamten Oberfläche zu verteilen und das Anhaften der Platten am Untergrund zu sichern, ist der Kleber unbedingt zweimal aufzutragen, wobei darauf zu achten ist, dass sich keine Leerstellen bilden, die Plattenbrüche verursachen könnten. Es wird empfohlen, den Kleber mit einem geneigten 6 mm-Zahnspachtel im Vollbett aufzutragen und den Kleber auch auf der Kover-Kehrseite mit einem 3 mm-Zahnspachtel aufzutragen. Nach erfolgter Verlegung der Platten auf dem Boden, mit einem Gummispachtel auf die Oberfläche drücken und die Oberfläche gleichmäßig abklopfen, um Luftblasenbildungen zu verhindern und das Anhaften am Untergrund zu begünstigen. Für eine bessere optische Wirkung und Zweckdienlichkeit ist es wichtig, Fugenkreuze für 2-3 mm breite Fugen zu verwenden. If you are installing the slabs on glazed ceramic floors, wash the surface with a solution of water and caustic soda and rinse thoroughly before installation. As an alternative, eliminate any traces and residues of dirt that could impair adhesion of the product to the support by means of mechanical abrasion.

To guarantee perfect spreading of the adhesive and to ensure perfect adhesion, the adhesive should be applied to the supporting surface and to the back of the slab. Pay attention to avoid air gaps that could cause the slab to break. Spread the adhesive full-bed using a trowel with tilted teeth at a distance of 6 mm the one from the other and also apply the adhesive on the rear side of the slab using a trowel with 3 mm teeth. After installation, tap the slab with a rubber-coated trowel all over to prevent air bubbles forming and to improve adhesion. For a better appearance and for practical maintenance, use spacer crosses to maintain a gap between slabs of 2-3 mm. Pay attention to the grain size of the joint grouting material: it must be suitable for the size of the joint. Fill the jointing gaps until the grout is flush with the tile so as to create a flat surface. Expansion joints must be arranged in a regular manner. There must be a gap of at lest 5 mm between wall and floor, which will be appropriately covered by means of a bull-nose piece. Expansion joints and their arrangement must be calculated by the installation supervisor.

Pour une pose correcte de Kover sur le revêtement préexistant, le nombre et la typologie des joints de dilatation doivent être calculés sur la base des caractéristiques du chantier, par le directeur des travaux. En cas de pose sur un carrelage émaillé, il est important d’effectuer un lavage préalable avec de la soude caustique diluée dans de l’eau. Rincer ensuite le tout avec de l’eau abondante, puis procéder à une abrasion mécanique pour éliminer toute trace de saleté de la surface qui pourrait compromettre la prise du carrelage au support.

Pour une distribution homogène du mortier-colle sur toute la surface et garantir la prise des plaques au support, il est important d’appliquer le mortier-colle avec la technique du double encollement, en veillant à ne pas former de vides qui pourraient provoquer la rupture du carreau. Il est conseillé d’appliquer le mortier-colle fluide à haut pouvoir mouillant sur le support avec une spatule crantée avec des crans distants de 6 mm et inclinés. Appliquer aussi le mortier-colle au dos de Kover avec une spatule crantée de 3 mm. Après avoir posé la plaque sur le support, il est conseillé de tapoter légèrement dessus avec une spatule en caoutchouc pour faciliter son adhésion et prévenir la formation de bulles d’air. Pour un meilleur rendu esthétique et fonctionnel, il est aussi conseillé d’utiliser des croisillons distanceurs servant à maintenir un joint de 2 – 3 mm. Une pose correcte exige l’observation des joints requise par le support et des exigences spécifiques de chaque chantier. La granulométrie du produit de jointoiement doit être adaptée au joint conseillé et ce dernier doit être rempli à ras afin de créer une surface uniforme. Placer régulièrement les joints de dilatation et veiller à ce qu’il y est un joint de 5 mm au moins entre les murs et le sol, qui sera ensuite recouvert par la plinthe. Les joints de dilatation et leur disposition seront calculés par le directeur des travaux en fonction des exigences du chantier.
