Assalamualaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh and Greetings,
First and foremost, I would like to welcome all new students to the Faculty
of Electrical & Electronic Engineering (FKEE), Universiti Tun Hussein Onn Malaysia
(UTHM). Thank you for choosing us to be a part of your educational journey. Rest
assured that hundreds of electrical and electronic engineers have been
produced by FKEE since its establishment.
This handbook provides information and guidance to the new students about
FKEE’s�academic�programmes,�programmes�roadmaps�and�list�of�laboratories,�to�
name a few. Success is a journey, not a destination. In this journey, FKEE with its
dedicated staff strive to provide a positive and exciting learning environment for
the students.
As�the�Faculty�is�moving�towards�becoming�an�“Industrial Driven Faculty”�a�lot�of�
effort has been done to bring the industry into the Faculty. The aim is to prepare
our graduates for the Industrial Revolution 4.0. In addition, the academic
programmes are continuously improved according to the requirements of
Engineering Accreditation Council (EAC), Board of Engineers Malaysia (BEM) and
our stakeholders.

The Faculty of Electrical and Electronic Engineering (FKEE) was established on 1st May 2004 as a result of UTHM restructuring exercise. FKEE consists of four departments: 1. UNDERGRADUATE PROGRAMME
1. Bachelor of Electrical Engineering with Honours
This programme offers an academic study in the field of electrical engineering which covers various topics such as electrical machines and drives, electrical energy consumption, high voltage engineering, power quality analysis, electric power generation, transmission and distribution and electrical system design. The common duration of the programme is eight (8) normal semesters and one (1) short semester or four (4) years where the students have to complete 136 SLT credit hours to be awarded the degree.
2. Bachelor of Electronic Engineering with Honours
This programme offers an academic study in the field of electronic engineering with the aim at producing electronic engineers who are highly competent. Students of this programme will be able to choose one specialisation area from five (5) as listed below:
1. Computer Engineering 2. Communication Engineering 3. Mechatronic and Robotic Engineering 4. Microelectronic Engineering 5. Medical Electronic Engineering
The common duration of the programme is eight (8) normal semesters and one (1) short semester or four (4) years where the students have to complete 137 credit hours to be awarded the degree.
