Charge exchange extraction using a stripper foil. Due to the aging of the stripper it has to be changed every day. The needed time for the stripper change and the retuning of the beam extraction is about15 minutes/day.

Sfide per l’RFQ di IFMIF EVEDA
– 650 kW di fascio (5MeV, 130 mA) da accelerare con basse perdite e bassa attivazione della struttura per consentire la manutenzione ( Beam losses<10 mA et <0.1 mA between 4 MeVand 5 MeV).
– 600 kW di potenza RF dissipata nella struttura: le strette tolleranze meccaniche debbono essere mantenute in esercizio
– Questo RFQ sarà il più grande mai costruito. • Massimo uso dell’esperienza TRASCO (incluse brasature al CERN) • Massimo utilizzo delle capacità di produzione interne INFN
(progettazione, lavorazioni, misure and brasature)• Rendere la produzione semplice e possibile a più partner industriali
• Attualmente, completato il prototipo, è in corso la procedura di acquisto per la produzione industriale di 6 dei 18 moduli.
