il metodo del Cavallo di Troia

6Li(3He,p)4He presente un Q molto elevato (16.88 MeV), pertanto il luogo cinematico è ben separato da altri luoghi

Nuovo esperimento con la reazione 6Li(3He,p)4He con angolo solido maggiore per incrementare la statistica a bassa energia ed il numero di punti nella regione di interesse astrofisico (E<20 keV)
Possibili esperimenti (con fasci radioattivi): 3He(d,p)4He attraverso le reazioni a tre corpi: 3He(3H,p)n oppure 2H(7Be,p)4He. Test del THM usando un fascio radioattivo e test dell’influenza del nucleo “cavallo di Troia” sulla sezione d’urto quasi libera

In the past ten years several Ue determinations for the 3He(d,p)4He reaction have shown inconsistent values that in almost all cases are larger than the adiabatic limit

Since, according to atomic physics predictions, the adiabatic limit is the upper limit for Ue, a direct measurement of Sb(E) as well as an independent determination of Ue are therefore highly required

As shown, only the value by Engstler et al. agrees with the adiabatic limit, although, after a re-analysis by Langanke et al. by using different energy loss data as well as a different function for the extrapolation, a larger value is obained. Also Prati et al. re-analyse this data set by using a different fit function for the extrapolation, obtaining a value 1.6 times larger than the adiabatic limit!
Geist et al.: experiment to cover a larger energy range in order to perform a better fit on the data for the further extrapolation; same energy loss correction as Langanke et al.
Aliotta et al.: new experimental data treated with recently measured energy loss behaviour of deuterons in 3He

Possible experiments: 3He(d,p)4He via 3H(3He,p)n 2H(7Be,p)4He: test of the THM by using a radioactive beam + test of the Trojan Horse nucleus influence on the THM
Further study: 3He(d,p)4He very important in fusion reactors for the energy production: high Q-value (Q=18.35 MeV) and low polluting. Study of the role of the electron screening in “helping” the fusion to take place.
